What is Spiritual Ascension?
Let's answer the question that everyone is curious about.
Ascension is a process of evolution that can be understood from many different angles. As a broad definition:
Ascension is the journey from Separation back to Wholeness:
From 3D Consciousness (duality) to 5D Consciousness (unity)
From Ego-Led (individual) to Spirit-Led (collective)
From Carbon-based structure (lower frequency) to a Crystalline structure (higher frequency)
From Discord to Coherence
From Fear (mind) to Love (heart).
Ascension is the remembrance of our innate interconnectedness. This return to Oneness is a sacred journey of healing and reintegration where we alchemise our wounds by transforming them into Embodied Wisdom.
By healing our trauma and dissolving the illusion of separation, we transcend states of lack, limitation and fear, expanding from an Ego-led Individual Consciousness to Spirit-led Unity Consciousness.
As Ascended humans, we build a New Earth on values of compassion, empathy and unconditional love.
Now that we’ve got a big picture overview, let’s dive into the details of this intricate and multilayered process of evolution.
To understand the role of Ascension, it’s useful to unpack what Descension is first…
Before creation, there was just one universal consciousness – a state of wholeness, unity and pure unconditional love. We will refer to this original totality simply as ‘Source’.
Source was curious to see, know and experience itself. To do this, it split itself into Mother God consciousness (Yin) and Father God consciousness (Yang). The force generated from this split kicked off a process of quantum fractalization that fragmented into more and more states of separation.
This separation from Source is known as the Descension process – where Source lowers its vibration to find expression in different universes, dimensions and vessels for incarnation. The lower the frequency, the more individualised and further away from Source.
Descension doesn’t go on forever. Like all things in our universe, it is part of a natural cycle. Following Descension is a process of unification back to Source called Ascension.
Key Point #1:
Ascension is the process of unification back to Source.
As Sources splits and descends from its original state of unity and wholeness, it can begin perceiving itself through the illusion of separation. It’s important to note that experiencing separation is not a bad or negative thing. Descension has its own value; the more separation, the more diversity, depth and richness available for Source to see, know and experience itself.

Separation offers many unique experiences, perspectives and opportunities for learning, growth and self-realisation.

At this point, it’s useful to conceptualise the different levels at which Source finds expression as it descends in density.
Source (‘I am’ presence)

Soul Growth and Spiritual Evolution
Before incarnating on Earth, our Soul collaborates with angels and guides to carefully plan out our adventure, making contracts and agreements with other Souls to help us learn the lessons that we believe would be beneficial for our evolution.
To enter the Earth plane, a part of our Soul separates as an individualised aspect we know as the Ego. The Ego gives our Soul the opportunity to have a uniquely individual experience.
Earth has primarily existed in the 3rd Dimension, which is characterised by duality, contrast and polarity. This means we can experience both light and dark, beauty and destruction, fear and love.
The gift of 3D Duality Consciousness
The 3D dimension of duality lets us experience disconnection from universal wholeness and unconditional love, which opens the door for experiences such as fear, sadness, grief, anger, anxiety, guilt, shame and depression.
That’s the gift of the 3rd Dimension, the experience of polarity under the veil of forgetfulness. This is why the illusion of separation is a valuable ingredient in our Earth incarnation – because a story is more interesting if you don’t know the ending.
This means from the Soul’s perspective, all your life challenges and obstacles are perceived as precious gems that contain enormous potential for spiritual evolution.
Key Point #3
Ascension is all about learning from our experiences for Soul growth and spiritual evolution.
From a human level, it might come as a shock that a Soul would intentionally plan a life experience that involved traumatic experiences such as war, abuse, heartbreak or discrimination.
Our Soul yearns for experiences on both ends of the spectrum, to experience what it’s like being victim and perpetrator, rich and poor, deeply connected and horrifically isolated.
Key Point #4:
3D Earth has been a unique schoolroom for learning the unique lessons of separation.
Ascending from 3D to 5D
Earth and humanity are in the process of shifting from the 3rd Dimension to the 5th Dimension. There are some distinct differences between the two:
3D Duality Consciousness = State of duality, separation and individuality where our ego can experience lack, limitation and fear.
5D Unity Consciousness = State of unity and wholeness, where we can experience unconditional love, the innate knowing that We Are All One and more of our Soul’s essence.
Again, it’s important to remember that 5D isn’t necessarily better than 3D. Both are valid states because they each offer unique and purposeful experiences for the Soul to learn from and grow through.
Before we move into 5D Unity Consciousness, we have to demonstrate that we've mastered the 3D game of Individuality.
Important lessons from our Individual human experience may include:
Developing emotional intelligence
Reconciling past trauma
Integrating your shadow aspects
Setting healthy boundaries
Claiming personal power and self-sovereignty
Expressing yourself authentically
Cultivating self-worth and self-love
Establishing a healthy sense of identity (aka a Healthy Ego)
Key Point #5:
Before we shift to 5D, we have to master the 3D game of Individuality.
Our individual experience is sacred because it offers unmatched learning potential.
That’s why the first step to learning ‘How to Transcend’ starts with meeting our Ego and understanding the important roles it plays during our human incarnation.
