Age Of Aquarius – Authenticity Codes
Instead of a society that ridicules or ostracises individuals for being different, imagine a world where one person's courage to express themselves inspires others to share their undiluted selves too.
Yesterday morning I woke up and thought:
“We’ve got our next event this weekend and I’ve hardly done any promo for it”
Real Talk #1: I like branding but marketing isn’t my forte. I mean, selling can feel pushy and a bit gross. I spent some time investigating my resistance and I discovered I had some trauma from the intrusive door-to-door salesmen that used to come to our house when I was young.
Often, they wouldn’t take No for an answer and I had this guilt-trip around being rude. Hello people-pleasing/ weak boundaries! 👋
Anyway, I was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and contemplating how I could promote the event. I also had to mention that the start time had changed from 7pm to 12:30pm (more on that in a sec).
“I’m passionate about Ascension and connecting in groups but geez, this social media thing can feel like a chore sometimes.”
Then something happened.
A random thought dropped in.
What if you make a cheesy video to promote the event?
I smirked.
You could speak in a slow, deep voice, put some cliche wellness music in the background and do some over-the-top eye contact.
I chuckled out loud this time.
Instantly, all that tedious salesman energy dissolved.
Now I was smiling cheek-to-cheek thinking how silly it would be...
How unprofessional it would be...
And potentially how weird it could come across!
Since launching Academy Of Transcendence in 2019, I’ve had to continually evolve how I show up.
In the early days while I was still breaking out of the spiritual closet, I was more than happy to hide my name and face and let my graphic design skills do most of the talking.
Over time, I saw the importance of showing who was behind the content so I sprinkled a photo of me here and there.
Eventually, the whole social media arena shifted and it was getting more common for people to post video content, jump on a livestream or share “a-day-in-the-life-of” videos – which always makes me wonder if they have a friend filming them or if they are just moving a tripod around all the time? 🤔
Real Talk #2: I was born in the 80s. Unlike millennial content creators or these new Gen Z digital natives, having a camera in my face isn't the most natural or comfortable thing.
It seems like in the emerging digital age (with the rapid rise of AI generated visuals), seeing another human’s face is an important bridge for genuine human-to-human connection.
So there I am in the kitchen, shaking my head at the absurdity of this idea while simultaneously acknowledging how energised this playful approach made me feel.
The video could be funny, or it could have the opposite effect and actually deter people from the event (which would be hilarious in itself).
Eventually, my curiosity outweighed my caution. I decided to switch off my paranoid mind and go with the effervescent feeling in my heart space (maybe that's why they call it lightheartedness?).
After several failed recording attempts (mostly me bursting out laughing at myself), 🔗 here is the final result.
To be fair, the end result is pretty tame.
In my imagination, it was way more over-the-top so I probably missed the mark when it comes to comedic execution.
This could be a confusing video to those who don’t know me personally.
People who kind-of know me might be cringing.
But those who have either lived with me, worked with me or known me for a long time understand that this is classic trolling Kevin.
Thankfully, I’m at the point of my journey where I’m ok with people misunderstanding me and it’s going to be interesting if this playful side of me sneaks more into AOT. Because let’s be real, it’s not giving wise spiritual teacher energy.
Regardless, I had fun making the video and this reflection process alone has prompted some deep introspection around the theme of Authenticity.
On one hand, Authenticity can mean expressing your truth or sharing what is really meaningful to you in a really honest or sincere way.
On another, it can also be unapologetically letting your unique quirks and oddities come out to play.
Coincidently, Pluto recently moved into Aquarius, and one of the signature expressions of Aquarian energy is Individuality, Originality and Eccentricity.
I wonder if over the next 20 years, we'll see more people sharing their weirder sides publicly. Less formal, more candid. Less “professional”, more raw and unfiltered.
Instead of a society that ridicules or ostracises individuals for being different, imagine a world where one person's courage to express themselves inspires others to share their undiluted selves too.
A new culture that challenges convention and conformity, where kookiness and idiosyncrasies are celebrated rather than shunned.
Perhaps more self-issued permission slips to let your personality shine through for the whole world to see – quirks, peculiarities and all?
The Age of Aquarius is also about radical leaps in technology and innovation.
Artificial Intelligence is completely changing the digital landscape, offering never-before-seen levels of accuracy, precision, processing and production. There's no doubt we're on the fast track to a very different future.
To counterbalance all that precise tech and slick digitalisation, I hope we'll develop a deeper appreciation for the wonky idiosyncrasies that make us unique human beings.
What a trippy paradox: Moving into 5D Unity Consciousness means we will be feeling more connected to the collective more than ever before, yet, part of that paradigm leap involves each of us fully owning our uniqueness and honouring how others choose to express themselves.
Rather than 'We Are One' meaning homogeneous or sameness, it can mean wholeness of expression, where everyone is sharing their fullest and most vibrant self.
Where all pieces of the collective puzzle are present and accounted for.
Where all instruments in the orchestra are being played at their most magnificent expression.
Everyone sharing their Soul's unique frequency and signature song.
Then we'll have unity with diversity and everyone's radiance is valuable. Because when one is dim or missing, we can't enjoy the complete tapestry of sound, colour, expression and wisdom.
Wow. What a long-winded way to say…
